This is no game, but these birds really didn’t seem to like our cameras today. One woodpecker in particular decided that the camera needed some personal attention and proceeded to investigate it with their beak. They picked away a good portion of the camo and did moderate damage to the case, which required repairs.
On a side note, this is one of the many reasons we charge a nominal fee to view our premium content. The price of membership helps us to maintain our network of cameras as each camera costs about $150-200. Between “acts of god” and theft, we need to replace 4-5 cameras a year. We thank all our supporters for helping us keep these cameras running.
